Ozzy Osbourne was a British singer, songwriter, and media personality best known as the frontman for the influential heavy metal band Black Sabbath before launching a successful solo career. Born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham on December 3, 1948, he co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968, earning the nickname "The Prince of Darkness". After being fired from the band in 1979, he released several successful solo albums and gained a new generation of fans through the reality television series The Osbournes. He died on July 22, 2025, at age 76.
